Dr. Robinson returned to his Alma Mater in the fall of 2011 to lead the newly formed Office of Leadership Studies and Servant Leadership. He is available to assist pastors in planning and executing their sabbaticals, as well as in the strategic planning process with the local church board. Ed enjoys NNU baseball games, day hiking with his wife Nancy, experiencing Christian community with students and colleagues, leading his student ABIDE group, and being grandpa to Seth and Colin.

Office of Spiritual Formation

Rev. Dustin Metcalf
University Chaplain, Co-Director of the Office of Spiritual Formation

Dustin loves the outdoors - "It is one of the places that I have come to experience God most profoundly in my life.  I am thankful for these moments.  I love the Church.  It is in the midst of worship in a local church that I have met God most often.  One of the things that excites me most about coming back to NNU is that we get to pause three times a week to worship together."  Dustin graduated with honors from NNU in 1999 with a bachelor's in religious studies with an emphasis in missiology.  He and Olivia attended Nazarene Theological Seminary as a team, earning master's degrees and graduating with honors in 2004.  In their service as chaplains, the Metcalfs will continue the legacy of creating a living laboratory for Christian spiritual formation, shaping students of all vocations to love God, serve the Church and the world.  Dustin and Olivia have two boys that "make our lives infintely more exciting and rewarding!"

Rev. Olivia Metcalf
University Chaplain, Co-Director of the Office of Spiritual Formation

"I love getting to know people!  Hearing stories, sharing a laugh, or walking difficult paths with others is something I'm passionate about.  The opportunity to share life is, for me, best expressed in the Christian community of faith.I love seeing God's kingdom at work in this world, and I want to be a part of helping it become a reality in the lives of our students, staff and faculty."  Olivia graduated with honors from NNU in 2000 with a bachelor's in religious studies with an emphasis in practics.  She earned a master's degree and granduated with honors from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2004.  Olivia currently serves on the NTS Board of Trustees.

Rev. Julene Tegerstrand
Director of Student Ministries, Office of Spiritual Formation

Julene has a passion for Spiritual Direction.  As one of the campus pastors she walks the journey with others as life is experienced both in one-on-one relationships and through service and mission. In her role, Julene facilitates opportunities where students can listen to their experiences to discover God through mission trips, service-learning clubs and small group ministry.  After graduating from Nazarene Theological Seminary she served in South Korea for four years.  In 2007-2008 Julene ventured out on a personal pilgrimage to places around the world that have a story of mass human tragedy.  "I'm still unpacking those experiences and have a growing interest in how leaders create spaces of healing, forgiveness and reconciliation in community."  When not meeting with students or working on her doctoral studies, Julene is usually running a trail or eating Thai food and fro-yo with friends.
